Feel like You’re Losing the Battle? Being Aware is Your Best Weapon

Looking to lose weight? I found an interesting free online resource for calorie counting recently. I am not a fan of calorie counting, and it’s not a primary strategy I use when helping people to reach a healthier weight (contact me about online coaching if you are looking for help: my wellness coaching info , my fitness training info).

However, I realise that one of the reasons I’ve stopped formally counting calories for myself is because I have internalized a good ballpark idea of what I need to stay fit, and about how much is on a plate or in a serving. I am really free: I can go anywhere to any function, at any time, enjoy myself without obsessing, enjoy the food, and still stay on track.

It wasn’t always that easy for me. When I was a teen and in my 20’s, I yo-yo’d between needing to lose 20lbs, and anorexia because I had no idea how to find the right balance and stay there. It wasn’t until I had a crisis in my life in my early 30’s (divorce) where I realised I couldn’t cope unless I did something sustainable for my own health. That’s when I became a personal trainer and my journey to better health for myself and others began.

Since then, I’ve trained myself to sense more accurately when I’m full, and when I’m genuinely hungry (vs. eating for other reasons, or being pulled by addictive substances routinely added to processed foods).

When I observe many others eating, I realise that many people are kind of lost at sea: trained by marketing and by lack of original parental input into health and nutrition knowledge, to eat for all kinds of other reasons than nutrition and right portion. The situation is not helped by the huge marketing industry around the latest diet fads either.

Basically, people eat far more than they realise, or far more of the stuff you’re not supposed to major on, than they should. They don’t always do it out of will-full want to buy levitra desire to binge. It’s mostly just a lack of accurate sense of how much they are actually consuming, vs. what they actually need.

When you eat like this over time, your body and brain get out of whack: you don’t get the accurate signals your body is designed to give you when it’s healthy…or else you don’t ‘hear’ or process those signals well.

What’s needed is to get in touch with loved ones, the time that we have is just not in fact a sensible technique to decide on due to the fact you will discover contradictions of utilizing the drug. levitra properien But sources say that about 4 ounce of watermelon contains approximately 150 milligrams of citrulline but how much citrulline is required to continue reading that pharmacy now order cheap viagra act the penile region is still unknown and probably it will need further studies to come to a satisfactory conclusion. What it comes down to is how many times you use a phrase of unica-web.com commander levitra hard sell and sales spiel and also how many times you use a spamming word. Other way purchase viagra of treating is by giving medicines for overall health improvement. So, while I don’t think that calorie counting is where it’s at ultimately, it can be an important tool at the beginning. It’s a bit like budget exercises where you track every penny you spend for a while in order to face the whole truth about what you are doing with your money. Similarly, calorie counting or other portion control strategies can be a really important early step on a journey towards a healthier relationship with food and your own health and wellbeing.

Until you know the truth about what you are eating, you will keep losing the battle. You’ll be tempted by gimmicks and quick fixes, because you won’t ‘own’ your process.

Once you train yourself to know how much you need and fuel yourself accordingly, (instead of on a whim or as a slave or victim to scrumptious advertising) you’ll be free from calorie counting ever again.
